The major population of India is located in the rural sector with agriculture as main profession. The scenario of the rural society is disturbing due to poverty, non availabilities of the facilities, improper planning and implementaion of the government policies and above all the nature of the people.Each and every citizen of India has contributed in a big way for the development and growth of our nation and the majority of it is carried out by the NGO's.
Vidarbha Vaibhav registered in the year 2010. Vidarbha Vaibhav will facilitate between NGOs & other agencies and make available the best resources to them but not undertake such projects by itself. Vidarbha Vaibhav will strive for the active involvement of students of Engineering, NSS & MSW in the NGO activities and activity based ‘Study Groups’ will be formed. Vidarbha Youth will be in focus for all activities of Vidarbha Vaibhav’. Vidarbha Vaibhav will focus activities mainly in Agriculture, education, health, rural development, Child welfare, Women & poverty .
NGOs are situated at village & remote places where govt. resources can’t reach. They don’t have technical assistance, lack of infrastructure to run various projects . To overcome all these difficulties Vidarbh Vaibhav will help NGOs to make them aware of various schemes, projects and extend all sort of help to strengthen NGOs.
Aims & objectives of Vidarbha Vaibhav
To promote awareness programs for Rain Water harvesting , benefits of irrigation in order to enhance agriculture income of farmers.
To undertake awareness programs on renewable energy including Solar & winpower energy.
To take up and suggest measures to reduce unemployment, child malnutrition and non-existence of affordable medical & educational facilities to poor.
To strengthen NGOs working in Vidarbha region in order to improve their performance and provide them technical guidance and training in order to increase productivity.
To make available a common platform to these NGOs showcasing their mission, work & achievements to the entire world through this website.
To works as a link between NGOs and society, governments and other charitable organizations, without actually getting involved in the work itself or their relations.
To organize various activities for creation of public interest and generating support to these NGOs.
To focus on areas of critical problems in Vidarbha and form different study groups comprising of experts in the identified areas and strive to provide effective solutions.
To organize lectures, seminars, Workshops as promotional activities.
To develop self help groups to stop/minimize the environment pollution.
To publish relevant reports, journals and develop data banks, libraries etc. to achieve objectives.

One day workshop on “Melghat Vaibhav’ was organized on Thursday 9th June 2011
One day workshop on ‘Solar Energy –Need of Comman man and Society’ jointly organized with Institution of Engineers (India), Nagpur. On 2nd May 2010.
In a one day workshop on Solar Energy around 80 NGO’s were participated where dignitaries Mr. Sudhir Dhanvijay , Asst. General Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has exhorted banks to come forward financing various activities under renewal sources of energy, particularly solar energy. He also said that banks should create awareness among people concerned about various credit facilities available with them under renewable sources of energy.
Senior Architect Anand Godse who was the chief guest said that houses should be designed in such a way that maximum use of solar energy can be made.Chairman IOE, Nagpur NLC , Mr.M.D. Date said that emphasis should be given to generate power through non-conventional sources like solar energy. He said in 11 districts of Vidarbha about 15,000 students are residing in Ashram Shalas in rural area and their hot water requirement can be met through optimum use of solar energy.
Solar cookers should be mandatory in Ashram shalas. Government can also direct collectoreate offices for installation of solar PV panels to get solar energy for lighting loads in their offices, rest houses, circuit houses, primary health centres in rural areas.
Competition for engineering college students on 23rd January 2011
Around 50 engineering colleges in Vidarbha were invited to participate in Model & poster competition. The aim of this competition was to create awareness about various renewable energy sources among engineering students and also to give them chance to exhibit new ideas in by way of display of models, presentations and posters. There was a overwhelming response from students. Many students participated in the competition and gave presentations on various topics related to the subject.

Vidarbha Vaibhav organized the NGO meet as a part of the 1st India International Energy Summit in VNIT Nagpur on 30th January 2011 where around 100 NGOs participated and shared there experiences and success stories. The meet was inaugurated by Dr. K. Karunakaran, Director, Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industralization (MGIRI), Wardha. There was a notable participation from the NGOs situated at village & remote places where government resources cannot reach. To overcome all these difficulties the NGO meet took important decision so as to make them aware of various schemes, projects and extend all sort of help to strengthen NGOs.
NGOs briefed the need of renewable energy resources at rural places where electricity has no access. The problem of load shedding in rural areas of Vidarbha was continuously increasing and gave minimal productivity to small scale industries and farmers. NGOs also gave presentation on solar energy projects which are successfully running at various parts of Vidarbha region. They also pointed out that the costs of projects are unaffordable & govt. schemes are very limited. Many NGO's felt the need for rural industrialization through the conservation of energy and the government, well committed to extend all kind of technical, infrastructural, financial, technological assistance to the NGOs. The meet was also attended by various government bodies, social workers, educational institutions and corporate who shared their ideas and practical implementing tips.
One day workshop on “Melghat Vaibhav’ was organized on Thursday 9th June 2011
This workshop was organized in Amaravati (Maharashtra) in which around 80 Members from NGOs , government officials & public representatives participated in this workshop. The object of this workshop was to discuss the various problems in that region and also to evaluate opportunities available for the tribals in Melghat region. Vice Chancellor of Amaravti University Dr. Mohan Khedkar addressed the participants. In this workshop four areas were identified like Education, Health, Water & Employment and for each area separate persons has been nominated and given responsibility to prepare action plan on all the areas.
